History and Culture
The first written mention of Branžež dates from 1338. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Branžež was built in 1854 by the village judge Hrůša. In 2015, the chapel was renovated with financial support from the Czech Ministry of Regional Development.
Hynšta is an archaeological site in Branžež. Ušátko features remnants of railings on sandstone blocks and embedded structures. Ušátko may have been a medieval fortified site or settlement.
Even then, the first tourists came to Branžež for recreation.
