Buštěhrad Castle is a Baroque château with a Neoclassical chapel and is considered Buštěhrad’s most important monument.

Culture and History

The Buštěhrad castle park was restored and has been open to visitors since 2012. The first, and therefore oldest, written record of the Buštěhrad brewery dates from 1548. The protected former brewery administration building, House No. 111, has a typologically interesting and rare roof structure known as a “skružový krov”.

The Buštěhrad water tower, built in 1933, is an architecturally valuable Functionalist technical structure. The church in Buštěhrad was consecrated on 27 February 1898.

In the Urban Space

The “Buštěhrad History Trail” is an educational tourist route that takes visitors to historically interesting places in Buštěhrad. It uses 26 publicly accessible ceramic frames on houses to present the history of Starý Hrad and its surroundings.

Popper House, No. 54, is one of the 34 stops on the Ota Pavel Trail in Buštěhrad. One exhibition section of the Buštěhrad Ota Pavel Museum focused on the life and work of Ota Pavel and included documents, photographs, and objects from his life, including his typewriter, fishing rods, and a teddy bear from his childhood. A second exhibition section of the Buštěhrad Ota Pavel Museum focused on the history of Buštěhrad and the life of František Rott, one of the founders of the local Sokol association.

Landscape

Buštěhrad and its surroundings offer suitable conditions for cycling, as well as interesting terrain and unusual views of the landscape, especially towards České Středohoří. The Na Horkách hill near Malé Přítočno is located in the vicinity of Buštěhrad.
