Kmetiněves: Hotels and Accommodation

Kmetiněves is a locality with a historic center, documented since 1336 and designated as UAN II. The Church of St. Václav dates from the 14th century.

History and Culture

St. Václav was remodeled in the Baroque style in 1731. It is a single-nave rectangular building with a narrower, three-sided closed presbytery and two square sacristies. Its western façade features an original Late Gothic tower built of stone blocks. The furnishings include a Baroque pulpit and a confessional from 1741.

The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity was built in the Neo-Gothic style in the second half of the 19th century, probably on the site of an older chapel. A stone cross is set into its side façade. Every year, the lighting of the Christmas lights on the Christmas tree takes place in front of the municipal office in Kmetiněves. The statue of the World War Fallen Memorial was erected and unveiled in 1922.

Townscape

The complex of the Church of St. Václav includes a mortuary and a cemetery that is still in use, and is surrounded by an enclosing wall. It lies on a slight rise at the eastern edge of the locality, along the road and near the village center. The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity stands on the road to the village center.

Landscape

Kmetiněves lies on both banks of the Vranský stream, which flows through the center of Kmetiněves. Fields occupy most of the cadastral area of Kmetiněves. The locality lies in a fertile, agriculturally oriented area.
