Jemníky: Hotels and Accommodation

Jemníky is defined by its landscape and material heritage. Culture

The Jemníky menhir is registered as an immovable cultural monument. A wooden cross dating from 1823 previously stood at the site of the monument. The stone in Jemníky is made of ferruginous sandstone, is approximately 1 metre high and weighs around 900 kilograms.

Jemníky is documented as the property of St George's Convent at Prague Castle in 1228. The chapel in Jemníky was built at the end of the 19th century. It has a square floor plan, a distinctive Gothic Revival façade and a four-sided bell tower at its top.

History and Technology

The Humboldt shaft was sunk on the western edge of the Jemníky cadastral area. The Zvoleněves–Kladno-Dubí railway line was built in stages; sections were opened in 1856 and 1886. Jiří Družecký composed around 150 works for wind instruments.
