The present-day Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Dolní Chvatliny was completed in 1828 and is registered under number 23339/2–720 in the Central List of Immovable Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic.

Culture and Local History

Dolní Chvatliny is situated on the Voděradský Brook. The fortress of Dolní Chvatliny was probably built in the second half of the 14th century during the time of Vavřinec z Mlékovic or his sons Soběn and Vesel. Only an overgrown mound remains of it today, separated from the surrounding area by a ditch and an embankment in the form of a small rise in the terrain.

The modest remains of the fortress are located on the eastern edge of the village, to the left of the road to Bečváry, at the site still known as Na Zámečku. The memorial plaque for the war victims of Dolní Chvatliny is located on the building of the former school No. 26.

Music

The Velký dechový orchestr Kolín – Dolní Chvatliny has a tradition spanning more than one hundred years. Together with Městská hudba Františka Kmocha, the orchestra stood at the cradle of the Kmochův Kolín festival.
