Tuchoraz: Hotels and Accommodations

The preserved remains of Tuchoraz Castle are considered an exceptionally valuable monument of Czech Gothic architecture. A commemorative plaque on the entrance tower of Tuchoraz Castle bears the year 1477.

Culture

The entrance tower and cellar of Tuchoraz Castle are accessible by prior arrangement with the monument’s owners. A traditional bell column dating from 1845 stands in Tuchoraz village square. The niche chapel of the Virgin Mary in Tuchoraz dates from 1903. The wayside chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk on the road from Tuchoraz to Zahrady is a column shrine dating from 2003.

The farm’s utility building in Tuchoraz is a unique late Gothic structure with a series of carefully hewn surrounds on its portals and small windows. The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary was consecrated on 23 August of the same year.

Cycling

The Šemberské stezky trails are located just behind Tuchoraz in the municipal forests near Český Brod. The base of the Šemberské stezky in Tuchoraz includes a bicycle rental service. At present, the trails comprise three downhill routes of varying difficulty and one uphill route, with a total length of 4–5 km. The Šemberské stezky can be reached by bicycle or train, and this is the preferred option.

Regional Produce

The Sady Tuchoraz farm shop is located in Tuchoraz village square, directly next to the inn, and offers apples according to seasonal availability, apple cider, honey, and seasonal fruit and vegetables. The Středočeská ovocná stezka runs along well-maintained orchards and through places where, especially in autumn, you can taste fruit, cider, or dried fruit from local growers.
