Nature

South of the settlement of Dubiny, the Ovocný sad Pod Dubinami orchard is located in Velkopopovicko Nature Park. It contains 20 standard fruit trees of old apple varieties. The orchard has a rest area with a bench made from a cherry tree trunk and an information board.

Residents use Velkopopovicko Nature Park for recreation and sports. Its educational trails inform visitors about the nature and history of the region.

The private botanical garden in Dubiny covers 5,000 m² and was founded in 1997. In 2013, the garden was admitted to the Union of Botanical Gardens of the Czech Republic.

Culture

During the tour of the Velkopopovický Kozel Brewery, the brewing process is explained in the current brewhouse. A historic steam brewhouse from 1928 and traditional brewing crafts are presented. For visitors aged 18 and over, the tour includes a tasting of unfiltered Velkopopovický Kozel.

Trails

In Velkopopovicko Nature Park, the educational trails “Krajem Josefa Lady” and “Krajinou barona Ringhoffera” inform visitors about the nature and history of the region. The second educational trail offers views of Velkopopovicko Nature Park and the Posázaví landscape; it also includes an excursion in the Velkopopovický Pivovar.
