Štiřín combines a historically shaped castle complex with springs, ponds, and an educational trail.

Culture

The present appearance of Štiřín Castle is the result of Baroque and Neo-Baroque alterations. Between 1892 and 1910, Štiřín Castle was renovated and redesigned according to plans by the architect Jiří Stibral; the north wing and entrance area were remodeled, and electric lighting was installed. The grounds of Štiřín Castle are protected as an immovable cultural monument.

The Štiřín castle park is a significant work of landscape and garden art. The Štiřín castle landscape is structured by sightlines and views toward the castle and from the castle onto composed landscape scenes.

Nature

The Štiřínské studánky comprise a large cascade of ponds as well as several springs and fountains in the spring area of the nearby Pod stodůlkou forest. The Štiřínské studánky can be reached via a forest path along the western edge of Štiřínský rybník. In the past, they supplied water to Štiřín Castle and the former castle brewery.

The golf course in Štiřín is closed.

Trails

The educational trail Od zámku k zámku connects Lojovice and Štiřín and complements a section of the educational trail Krajinou barona Ringhoffera.

Geographical location

In the immediate surroundings of Štiřín are Milíř, Petrovy vrchy, Skalka, and Grybla; all four are hills. In the wider regional surroundings of Štiřín is Práče, a fortress. Also in the wider regional surroundings are Palác Kinských and The Golz-Kinsky Palace, each a palace, as well as Galerie Rudolfinum, a museum.
