History and culture

Archaeological finds show that Drevníky was a settlement and colonization center of the Knovíz culture in the 6th century BC. The first written mention of Drevníky dates from 1348; at that time, the village of “Dřevník” was recorded in the archiepiscopal domain of Příbram.

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas is located in Drevníky. No regular services are held in the Chapel of Saint Wenceslas in Drevníky. Next to the chapel in Drevníky stands a stone memorial to the soldiers from Drevníky and Slovanská Lhota who fell in the First World War.

Nature and trails

The Hříměždice–Homole–Hranice–Strž tourist route runs through the municipality of Drevníky. Near Drevníky are picturesque forests known as a popular paradise for mushroom picking.

The Lípa u Bandora memorial tree is located in the vicinity of Drevníky; there are seats there with a view of the picturesque rural landscape. A memorial tree stands in the village square of Drevníky.
