History

The Koupě fortress is a Gothic fortified building located in a farmyard. It was probably built in the second half of the 15th century or at the beginning of the 16th century. Koupě was first mentioned in writing in 1367; at that time, Jindřich of Koupí was staying there.

An old linden tree stands at house no. 34 and is protected by the heritage protection authorities. The building is closed to the public.

Culture

The historic site of Lety u Písku and the Memorial to the Roma and Sinti Holocaust in Bohemia are located in the vicinity of Koupě.

Nature

The Dražská Koupě protected area is home to a population of fire-bellied toads (Bombina bombina), a specially protected and critically endangered species. The Vinice and Štěrbina mountains are also located in the vicinity of Koupě.

Hiking trails

A red-marked hiking trail from Březnice to Třemšín runs through Koupě. A yellow-marked hiking trail from Koupě to Újezd u Skaličan also runs through Koupě.

Surroundings

The wider regional surroundings of Koupě include Zvíkov Castle, Nad Moráskem Mountain, Praha Mountain, and the Valdek Ruins. The Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast, considered a ruin, is also located there.
