Dvory: Hotels and Accommodation

Dvory combines a Cubist war memorial featuring slanted lines, triangular forms and faceted surfaces with a park laid out on part of the former pond surrounding the memorial and characterized by stately linden trees.

Culture and History

The listed complex of St. Wenceslas Church in Veleliby includes not only the church building but also the enclosing wall with its fence, gates and statues of saints, as well as the associated grounds. The present church is a Neo-Romanesque cemetery church dating from the 1870s. It was built between 1876 and 1878 by the master builders M. and J. Červený from Nymburk, replacing the former Church of St. Giles, which had been demolished around 1874.

The cemetery in Veleliby also contains a remarkable Art Nouveau tomb for the Mazánek family, a work by E. Kodet from 1912.

Zdonín Chateau is located in Veleliby, a district of Dvory, and is a Neo-Renaissance building dating from 1903. It can be reached on foot, by bicycle or by car, but is not open to visitors.

Landscape and Orientation

In the wider regional surroundings of Dvory lies Horky Mountain. In the immediate vicinity are the Na Čilečku hill near Straky, Všechlapský vrch hill near Všechlapy u Nymburka, and Na Kopci hill near Všechlapy u Nymburka.

At Veleliby railway station, tickets are sold on the train because the station does not offer ticket sales facilities.
