Grunta: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Grunta is an important Neo-Romanesque Art Nouveau cultural monument. It offers individual visits with a printed guide.

History

The village of Grunta was probably founded by German miners in the mid-13th century during the reign of King Přemysl Otakar II (1253–1278), when silver ore was discovered in the surrounding area.

On March 28, 2026, the sixth edition of the Velikonoční stezka took place in Grunta. Children completed various tasks and received small sweets as a reward.

Hiking

The northern loop trail of the Stříbrná stezka is 14 kilometers long, moderately difficult, and leads through the Na Vrších Nature Reserve to Grunta. It begins and ends at the Na Pašince restaurant in Kaňk and includes 12 stops. From the former Turkaňk mine, the loop trail follows a road past an orchard to Grunta.

In Grunta, the educational trail leads to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Grunta and then continues to the yellow and subsequently the green hiking trail marking.

Cycling

The Vinařská naučná cyklotrasa is 4.835 kilometers long and designated as cycle route No. 0091. It connects to the local Kutná Hora–Grunta road.
