Hostín is situated on a ridge formed by marl layers, which also contain limestone in places. Fossils as well as remains of crabs, snails, and marine animals have been found in Hostín and its surroundings. The forests still form the landscape setting of Hostín today.

Activities and Events

A yellow hiking trail leads directly through Hostín, from U Kola via Horní Harbasko to Dolní Harbasko. The Hostín triathlon comprises 400 m of swimming, 21 km of cycling, and 3.5 km of running.

Nature

Three Stone Age stone axes were found at various locations in Hostín; a chipped stone industry was also discovered in the forest on the northern edge of the village, its age estimated at 4000 to 5000 BC.

Culture and History

The monument to those who fell in the First World War in Hostín was erected in 1934 by a local amateur dramatics association.
