Kačice: Hotels and Accommodation

Kačice lies on the edge of the Džbán Nature Park and on the left bank of the Loděnice stream, locally also known as the Kačák.

Nature and Trails

The Kačice railway stop is a suitable starting point for a cycling tour in the Džbán Nature Park. Cycle Route 0105 runs through Stochov, Čelechovice, Kačice, Srby and Kamenné Žehrovice and is 8.55 km long in total.

A red-marked hiking trail runs along the Loděnice, also known as the Kačák, on the southern edge of Kačice. It leads from Lodenice near Mšecké Žehrovice to Loděnice near Beroun. A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Kačice north to the Obora forester's lodge and then onward to Smečno.

History and Townscape

In the 19th century, Kačice had a station on the Prague–Lány horse-drawn railway. The route of the former horse-drawn railway followed the Kačák to Čelechovice, where it crossed to the opposite bank via a bridge.

The farm complex at 52 Masarykova Street comprises a residential building, a barn, partially preserved stables, a boundary wall and gates. The rural farm complex at 52 Masarykova Street is probably an example of a half-timbered building dating from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Culture and Mill History

Koulův mlýn dates from 1666, was converted to steam power at the end of the 19th century, and together with an adjacent steam dairy formed an industrial complex. The former Koulův mlýn is now Otevřený mlýn; visitors can arrange a private guided tour of the entire site.

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Kačice is a Neo-Gothic niche chapel dating from 1851. Since 1993, Mass has been celebrated there on 16 May, the feast day of Saint John of Nepomuk.
