Běleč in the Křivoklátsko region: Hotels and accommodation

Nature

Běleč lies in the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. The Vůznice National Nature Reserve protects preserved natural forest communities characteristic of the stream valleys of Křivoklátsko. It encompasses the deeply incised valley of the Vůznice stream, with forests typical of the Central European uplands, and covers 66 hectares.

Numerous flowering wild plants grow in the forests, meadows and along the field margins around Běleč, including butterbur and autumn crocus; some of them are rare and protected. The forests around Běleč attract mushroom pickers from the surrounding area and beyond every summer and autumn.

Hiking and cycling

Hikers and cyclists can discover historical monuments and beautiful natural sites in Běleč and the surrounding forests. Regional Cycle Route 0049 Ploskovická kaštanka–Běleč–Žlubinec–Nižbor runs through the administrative area of Běleč and is designated in the land-use plan.

The Bělečské okruhy cycling race was held for the first time on 17 September 1988 on the Běleč–Bratronice–Nižbor–Luby–Běleč route. In winter, cross-country skiers use the area around Běleč when there is snow.

History and sightseeing

The Church of St. Nicholas in Běleč dates from the first half of the 14th century and has been documented in writing since 1352. Sightseeing in Běleč includes the church with an old cemetery and cellars beneath the church, as well as a St. John sculptural group near the oldest lime trees in Kladno District.

The Church of St. Nicholas was repaired in 1704. In 1717, a wooden bell tower covered with shingles was erected on a masonry base by the cemetery wall.
