Hořešovičky: Hotels and Accommodations

Hořešovičky is located in the so-called Klobucká Plain, near the road between Prague and Chomutov. A Baroque chapel dating from the 18th century, bearing the coat of arms of the Kinský family, stands in the village square.

Culture and History

The historic buildings include the Hořešovičky farmstead No. 15, which is a protected monument. The rural complex is Neoclassical in style and includes a half-timbered farm building; it dates from the late 19th century.

Archaeology is also associated with several periods. The Acheulean archaeological site in Hořešovičky was discovered in autumn 2002 and yielded a large collection of stone tools made from knapped stone, mostly produced from locally sourced Paleozoic chert. In the garden of House No. 27, a grave belonging to a woman described as wealthy, dating from the 4th to 3rd century BC, was found at a depth of 1.6 metres.

At the site dating from the Roman Imperial period, several sunken huts, pits, and postholes were identified; two Roman bronze vessels were also found there. A settlement existed a few hundred metres northwest of Hořešovičky in the 2nd to 3rd century. Near Hořešovičky, a settlement from the older Roman Imperial period also extended along a southeastern slope descending toward the Bílichovský stream.

Events

The Historic Furrow Hořešovičky 2026 event is returning for another edition dedicated to historic agricultural machinery. It is designed as a family and public event. The municipality of Hořešovičky also invites residents and visitors to the traditional Burning of the Witches event.
