The first written mention of Zlonice dates back to 1318: at that time, it was referred to as a village with a church and a fortress.
History
The Božà muka shrine from 1700 stands on Pod Lipami Square. After 1968, it was moved to Zlonice from a site near the pilgrimage church of St. Isidore in Budenice.
The Jewish cemetery in Zlonice has been documented in writing since 1703; the oldest surviving gravestones date from the second half of the 18th century. It is located about half a kilometre southeast of the square. A turnoff from the road between Zlonice and Beřovice leads to it via a dirt track.
The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Zlonice was built as a Baroque church between 1727 and 1735. It is a High Baroque building with a cruciform floor plan.
Štáf Castle in Zlonice was extensively rebuilt around 1560 by Václav Valkoun z Adlaru as a family residence. The statue of Zlonický Onufrius may date back as early as the 17th century and was restored in 2008.
Culture
The AntonĂn Dvořák Memorial is housed in a Baroque hospital that was reconstructed and converted into a memorial in 1954. It presents the life and work of AntonĂn Dvořák, as well as objects from his personal possession. From March 2023, the AntonĂn Dvořák Memorial was open on Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. and on the first Saturday of each month from 1 to 5 p.m.
The neighbouring VarhanĂkovna contains an exhibition about AntonĂn Liehmann, AntonĂn Dvořák’s teacher in Zlonice. Since 1994, a memorial hall dedicated to Eduard Ingriš, who was born in Zlonice, has been located in a former classroom of the VarhanĂkovna.
The Zlonice Railway Museum focuses in particular on sugar factory locomotives and the narrow-gauge railways of brickworks. Its collection comprises around 200 exhibits and collection items, including six sugar factory locomotives from the years 1912 to 1955. From 24 April 2010, regularly accessible exhibitions were held at the Zlonice Railway Museum in Lisovice, the western part of the municipality of Zlonice; an industrial narrow-gauge railway was also operated there.

The educational trail covers local history and heritage, nature and landscape, as well as natural monuments. It runs through the catchment areas of the BakovskĂ˝, VranskĂ˝ and ZlonickĂ˝ streams and includes 21 stops.
