Several cycling routes pass through Kobylnice. The 25-kilometre cycling tour “Svatojiřským lesem” runs through the village and is suitable for all types of bicycles.

Cycle route 8154 leads from Žerčice to Kobylnice along a 1.5-kilometre, gently ascending route. The section of cycle route 8154 near Kobylnice leads onto an unpaved field track that connects to a forest path to Ujkovice. Cycle route 8147 also passes through Kobylnice.

History

Kobylnice is first mentioned in a document from 1227. In 1228, Kobylnice belonged to the Convent of St George in Prague; historically, the village belonged to the Žerčice parish. In nearby Žerčice, the Church of St Nicholas has been mentioned as a parish church since 1384.

The old name Kobylníky is connected with the former keeping and breeding of horses outdoors in so-called “horse fields”.

Chlum Nature Park is located in the vicinity of Kobylnice. Velkoledecký Pond, which is a popular destination for excursions, is also nearby. The area surrounding Kobylnice also features dense, picturesque forests where mushrooms and other forest products can be found.
