Kolešov: Hotels and Accommodation

Kolešov is characterized by an intensively farmed landscape: particularly large arable fields and several hop-growing areas define the municipality’s territory.

Landscape and Nature

At the southern edge, Jesenicko Nature Park extends only slightly into the territory of Kolešov. Babí doly is a registered landscape feature and is considered a pronounced valley depression with a diverse stock of woody vegetation.

In the immediate vicinity of Kolešov are Ořešník Hill, Lovíčský les Hill and Pláň Hill [Děkov]. The wider regional area also includes Džbán Mountain, the site of Svatý Prokop, which is listed as a monument, and the ruins of Zřícenina Lina and Zřícenina Pravda.

History and Culture

The first written mention of Kolešov dates back to 1319; the name “villam feodalem Colessow” is recorded. In 1623, Heřmen u Questenburku bought the village, making Kolešov part of the Nepomyšl estate.

Following the re-emigration in 1946–1947, properties and farmsteads in Kolešov were occupied by Czechs originating from Volhynia. The wider regional area also contains U Svatého Gotharda, a site listed as a church.
