Routes through Kostomlátky

The 11th edition of the hiking event “Stezka Bohumila Hrabala – memoriál Františka Znamenáčka” was announced for June 13, 2026. The 10-km route was to run from Kostomlaty nad Labem via the Elbe Cycle Route and Kostomlátky to Nymburk.
The Elbe and water management
The lock chamber at Kostomlátky measures 85.0 × 12.0 metres. The original weir at Kostomlátky was built between 1933 and 1937. Its reservoir can be used for water sports and recreation. The navigable waterway “Labská vodní cesta” is designated on the Elbe in the area of Kostomlátky.
Townscape and remembrance
The townscape includes several designated structures. The gate of the agricultural farm at No. 6 in Kostomlátky is considered an architecturally valuable structure, as is the cross in the village square of Kostomlátky.
The chapel of Kostomlátky is a sacred monument on the village square. It has a square floor plan, a tent roof, and a bell tower set on top of it. According to its inscription, the chapel dates from 1896. A memorial plaque commemorating local residents who fell in the First World War is located on the chapel.
