Pičín: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Pičín dates from the late 13th century and has an Early Gothic core. It was later remodeled in the Baroque style. At the cemetery by the church stands a Baroque column gate dating from 1691, which was transferred from a nearby dissolved monastery. The same site also provided the statues of Saint John of Nepomuk and Saint Anthony of Padua, dating from 1708.

Pičín's historic buildings also include the former fortress, which was later used as a granary. It consists of an imposing two-storey building with remnants of Renaissance sgraffito on the façades, as well as an enclosing wall lined with arcade arches. The fortress, built in the Middle Ages, probably in the 13th century, was used as a granary from the 18th century onward.

The Velký Chlum and Kuchyňka mountains lie in the immediate vicinity of Pičín. The surrounding area also includes Hradec Mountain, Plešivec Mountain, the Zřícenina Valdek ruins, and the Svatá Anna Church.

In the wider regional surroundings of Pičín are Karlštejn Castle and the historic site of Lety u Písku, whose full name is Památník holokaustu Romů a Sintů v Čechách.

Pičínská rybka is a traditional fishing competition held at Dražský rybník. The event is held in two categories: adults, and children and young people under the age of 18.

The Pochod Pičín–Řitka was listed as having its eighth edition in 2026.
