Malý Újezd: Hotels and Accommodation
The Pšovka stream flows through Malý Újezd. The protected natural monument of Dolní Pšovka also includes the cadastral territory of Malý Újezd and protects small watercourses, bodies of water, and associated wetlands. Near the Pšovka stream, in part of the cadastral territory of Jelenice but predominantly in the cadastral territory of Mělnická Vrutice, lies the important Polabská černava national nature reserve, which was designated as early as 1946. In the nearby area of Jelenice u Mělníka, Polabská černava protects calcareous marshes and seasonally wet meadows. The nearby and very easily accessible Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area offers numerous opportunities for recreation and sporting activities.
Culture and History
The village square is home to a granary dating from 1840, which the municipality calls a landmark of Malý Újezd. The Neo-Gothic Chapel of the Most Sacred Heart, dating from the early 19th century, also stands on the village square. It was renovated in 2016 and subsequently reconsecrated; a memorial to the victims of wars stands in front of the chapel. The first documented mention of Malý Újezd dates from 1517.
Activities
Jelenický plácek has a children's playground with an outdoor fitness area. Jelenický plácek also includes a recreational area. The Vavřineč multifunctional sports field can be reserved.
Transport Links and Routes
The Lysá nad Labem–Ústí nad Labem railway line runs through Malý Újezd. A bus connection links Malý Újezd with Mladá Boleslav. The village is located on road I/16 between Mělník and Mladá Boleslav. Cycle path or cycling route 8171 runs from Mělník via Malý Újezd to Jelenice.
Rest areas have been built along the route from Jelenice to Vavřineč and in Vavřineč on the way to the forest. The rest areas in Jelenice and Vavřineč provide infrastructure for cyclists as well as for mothers with children and seniors on walks. The path to Vavřineč, lined with a poplar avenue, is used by residents for walks.
