Kropáčova Vrutice: Hotels and Accommodation

Kropáčova Vrutice lies on the southern slope of the Košátecký Stream valley.

Nature

The Musalova stráň botanical site covers 5 hectares. It includes grass- and shrub-covered slopes, old fruit trees, and thermophilous grass and herb communities. The area is part of the local biocorridor LBC 294.

Hájek includes a 2.6-hectare wetland and a meadow of approximately 10 hectares. The Vrutický Spring is located on the southeastern edge of Hájek; its water flows into the Košátecký Stream.

History and Culture

The Kropáč family owned Vrutice until 1710. The name addition “Kropáčova” comes from the name of this owning family.

Various historical traces are also concentrated in Krpy. The exact location of the former fortress is uncertain; however, an eastern moat may have survived, along which a road runs south of the village. Krpy is also home to the originally Gothic Church of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist, dating from the 13th century and expanded in the Baroque style in the 17th century. The archaeological finds include prehistoric material and finds from the High Middle Ages.

Kropáčova Vrutice is also connected with the early life of Miroslav Tyrš: he moved with his mother to relatives in Kropáčova Vrutice, where his mother died in 1838. In 1862, Miroslav Tyrš founded the Sokol sports club together with Jindřich Fügner.

Transport and Cycle Path

Kropáčova Vrutice railway station is located on Line 070 between Praha-Čakovice and Turnov.

Marked cycle route 8146 runs through Kropáčova Vrutice. It connects the Kokořínsko area with the former Milovice-Mladá military area.
