The state-owned Mnichovo Hradiště Castle is the town’s most significant landmark. At the same time, Mnichovo Hradiště is located in the immediate vicinity of the Bohemian Paradise Protected Landscape Area.
Culture
The Mnichovo Hradiště castle complex includes the castle park and the Chapel of St. Anne, with the tomb of the military commander Albrecht von Wallenstein. The tradition of the Svatoanenská pouť has existed in Mnichovo Hradiště at the same location for more than 300 years and takes place each year on the first Sunday after the feast day of the saint.
Nature
The forest park in Mnichovo Hradiště features enormous wooden sculptures based on local legends. QR codes on the sculptures provide access to their stories. The forest park also has information boards for a children’s educational trail; a pseudokarst cave that visitors can look into is located there as well.
