Kyšice lies in a gently rolling landscape on the western edge of the Prague Plateau, at the transition between the Kladno Plain and the Lány Uplands.
Landscape and Nature
South of Kyšice, the Kačák (Loděnice) stream flows through a wooded valley. On the outskirts of the village lies Parkán Pond, which covers approximately 70 ares. The Kyšice–Kobyla Site of Community Importance is also part of the natural area. It covers 20.3731 hectares and serves to protect the crested newt (Triturus cristatus). The Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area begins approximately 4 km from Kyšice.
Villagescape and History
The Chapel of St. Florian, a landmark of Kyšice, was built in 1863 using municipal funds. On the village square near the chapel stands a cross on a sandstone pedestal dating from 1888. Above Kyšice, on the road to Braškov, there is a wayside shrine dating from 1897.
A monument on the village square commemorates the inhabitants of Kyšice who fell in the First World War (1914–1918), as well as the victims of the German occupation of Bohemia during the Second World War (1939–1945). The Sokolovna was built in 1924–1925 from contributions and donations by local residents and served for many years as the centre of sporting and cultural life in Kyšice. Every year, Kyšice hosts the “Čarodějnice” festival, featuring a lantern procession through the village.
Sport and Trails
The small hall of the Sokolovna in Kyšice can be reserved for fitness training, dancing, yoga and table tennis with three tables. The multifunctional outdoor sports court of the Sokolovna in Kyšice can be reserved for tennis, nohejbal, volleyball, small-sided football and basketball.
The cycle and pedestrian path between Kyšice and Unhošť, newly built in 2009, is intended for pedestrians and cyclists and is frequently used by local residents. Marked cycle route 201 leads from Kyšice via Valdek onwards to Družec.
