Loděnice near Beroun: Culture and Nature

In Loděnice near Beroun, the railway station building houses the “Muzeum trati a Ostře sledovaných vlaků” museum. Loděnice railway station was built in 1897 together with the railway connection between Dušníky, now a district of Rudná, and Beroun. At the same station, architectural history, museum use, and film history come together at a specific location. In the 1960s, director Jiří Mencl filmed “Ostře sledované vlaky” at Loděnice railway station, based on a story by Bohumil Hrabal.

The Špičatý vrch–Barrandovy jámy nature monument was designated in 1970 and covers 2.8 hectares. It is the wooded southwestern part of Špičatý vrch hill, which is 414 m high, in the Karlštejnská vrchovina, also known as Na Černidlech. The nature monument lies 1 km south of Loděnice railway station, at a bend in the Loděnice–Bubovice road, in the cadastral area of Loděnice u Berouna.

The aim of conservation measures at Syslí jámy is to preserve the European ground squirrel and enable its spread into the surrounding biotopes. Syslí jámy is a 4.7-hectare meadow with a population of European ground squirrels, 1¼ km southeast of Loděnice. The two natural areas therefore have different characteristics: one protected area is a wooded part of a hill, while the other is a meadow with an explicitly mentioned species occurrence.

In the immediate vicinity of Loděnice are Doutnáč as a mountain, Blýskava [Chrustenice] as a hill, and Hačka [Mezouň] as a hill. Hradec is a mountain in the wider regional surroundings of Loděnice.
