Malá Víska: Hotels and Accommodation

The rock wall of Jindřichova skála is up to 21 metres high. From the Jindřichova skála viewpoint, you can look across the valley of the Červený potok to Valdek Castle.

Nature and Landscape

Jindřichova skála was designated a small-area protected site in the Mittelbrdy. The rock field below Jindřichova skála consists of Cambrian conglomerates.

Several endangered lichen species occur at Jindřichova skála; they prefer sunny scree slopes. A stream flows through Malá Víska and rises at a forest spring called “Belu”, about 300 metres south of the village.

Trails and Viewpoints

A marked hiking trail leads from Malá Víska near Hořovice to the Jindřichova skála viewpoint. From a car park in Neřežín, Valdek can be reached via a marked footpath of less than 2 kilometres.

Geographical Location

Malá Víska comprises two parts of the village, located about 300 metres apart at an altitude of 552 metres.

History and Culture

The first written mention of Malá Víska dates from 1520. The village originally developed as a settlement of lumberjacks and charcoal burners who worked in the forests of the Hořovice estate for the Komárov ironworks.

Valdek, a castle ruin with archaeological traces that was already described as dilapidated in 1623, is located near Malá Víska.

The CE “Jordán” structure was built in 1936. It is a prototype construction that has been preserved practically in its original condition and is an important testament to the military history of the Czechoslovak Republic.
