Poštovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Poštovice stretches through a valley along both banks of the Vranský potok stream. Road II/239 runs through the village, leading from Louny and Peruc to Černuc and Velvary.

Landscape and Trails

Poštovice is home to the protected Poštovický dub letní tree. The Švehlova lípa lime tree also grows here. The gently rolling landscape around Poštovice is ideal for cycling, walks, and hikes. Numerous roads and paths between pastures and fields lead from Poštovice to Šlapanický rybník.

History and Villagescape

The chapel in Poštovice was built in 1849 and completely reconstructed in 2003. It has a bell tower with a sundial. On the village square, the Monument to the Fallen, a significant structure, commemorates the historical development of the area. In the southern part of Poštovice stands Farm No. 7, an important historic building that also documents the historical development of the area.

Traces from earlier times also extend into the surrounding area: In 1900, a body burial dating from the Roman Imperial period was discovered during road construction work between Poštovice and Zlonice. South of Poštovice, in the direction of Tmáň, lies the place called “Na kazatelně”. Locals once met there with former Evangelical clergymen who preached at this site.

One of the distinctive details of the villagescape is the Baroque statue of Saint Donatus. It stands on a prismatic pedestal with a strongly profiled cornice; the year 1724 is inscribed on the pedestal. A butchers’ guild sign is also located on the historic house of the former well-known U Čtrnáctých inn.
