Prerov Nad Labem: Hotels and accommodation

Přerov nad Labem combines a traditional open-air museum, historic religious buildings, a castle complex and the natural area of the Polabské hůry.

Culture and history

The origins of the Polabské národopisné muzeum Přerov nad Labem date back to 1895. The complex includes the former manor cooperage with an old village school, which houses ethnographic exhibitions. The open-air museum also hosts traditional Easter and Christmas exhibitions with an accompanying programme.

The Muzeum Moto & Velo displays a 1905 Laurin-&-Klement motorcycle, model L80, with a sidecar in its original preserved condition.

The Church of Saint Adalbert was built in the Baroque style in 1681–1682. From May to October, services are held there on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. The Chapel of Saint Adalbert was built at the beginning of the 19th century in the fields on the border between Přerov nad Labem and Mochov.

A water fortress has been documented at the castle site in Přerov nad Labem since the mid-13th century; Renaissance and Baroque alterations followed later. The Renaissance castle is surrounded by a moat crossed by a stone bridge. The Baroque Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity is also located near the Renaissance castle.

Nature and trails

The Polabské hůry natural monument protects semi-natural dry grasslands and extensively mown lowland meadows extending to the hilly landscape. Přerovská hůra is one of the three sections of this natural monument. It contains abandoned small marl quarries with limestone layers or limestone concretions.

PÅ™erovská hůra can be reached via a walkable tourist trail that continues more than 250 m from the road. A vaulted spring is located beneath the Chapel of Saint Adalbert.
