Semtěš: Hotels and Accommodation

The tower of Semtěš Fortress, known as “Bašta”, is a 22-metre-high prismatic tower made of dark rubble stone, built in the 14th century as part of a noble residence. In 1997–1998, Bašta was reconstructed and converted into a lookout tower; from there, it offers panoramic views of the Železné hory mountains and the surroundings of Čáslav.

Bašta can be visited by prior telephone arrangement; the keys are available from a local attendant.

The Evangelical Reformed Church in Semtěš was built in 1860–1862 and ceremonially opened on 15 September 1867. Its organ dates from 1915. Pelíškova síň was added in 1935 and was later used as a winter prayer room.

The Stezka rytíře Rubína trail leads around Semtěš; each stop features a description, an image and a task. As part of the admission, visitors receive a worksheet; after completing the tasks, they receive small rewards.

Cycle route 4188 is classified as not very demanding. On the Řečany nad Labem–Semtěš section, it runs via Podhořany to Pařížov.

A blue-marked hiking route connects Semtěš with Sovoluská Lhota.
