Slapy: Hotels and accommodations

The Slapy Reservoir is a recreational area with swimming opportunities, beaches, viewpoints, and boat trips. Slapy thus combines water- and landscape-related attractions with a range of historic sites in the municipality and its surrounding region.

Water and activities

A daily boat service departs from the Slapská přehrada station, stops at nine other stations, and terminates in Nová Živohošť. The journey takes an average of one hour.

The “Slapák” trail in Trailpark Slapy is a trail of moderate difficulty and was introduced in 2022.

Landscape and regional sites

Vesely, a mountain, is located in the area around Slapy. Chlum [Štěchovice u Prahy], a hill, is located in the immediate vicinity of Slapy, while Chlumka [Štěchovice-Masečín], also a hill, lies in the area around Slapy. Hradec, a mountain, is located in the wider surrounding region of Slapy.

Culture and history

The Church of St. Peter and Paul in Slapy was rebuilt and consecrated in 1693 and completely restored in 1912. It has a longitudinal octagonal nave and an octagonal mortuary chapel arranged along the church axis. It can be visited 30 minutes before and after a Mass; guided tours are available by telephone appointment.

Zámek Slapy is now a protected cultural monument and a historic building complex on the southern edge of the municipality of Slapy. Its grounds combine historic layers from the medieval period through the 20th century. The complex includes a Neo-Baroque main building from the 1930s and Baroque ancillary buildings from the 18th century.

As part of the Letovisko Slapy project, roads, a water and electricity supply, a forest bath, and a restaurant were established; several model cottages and villas had already been built in 1935.
