Culture and History
The Church of the Archangel Michael in Soběšín is an Early Gothic church complex and one of the oldest and best-preserved small churches in the Kutná Hora District. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 3 May 1958. On the northern wall of the nave is an over-life-size medieval fresco of Saint Christopher. The western window of the Baroque tower offers a view of the Sázava Valley.
The Church of Saint Gallus stands in the centre of Otryby. An original Gothic portal is located in the western part of the northern side of the nave. An enclosing wall surrounds the green area of a disused cemetery.
Landscape along the Sázava
The eastern part of the Soběšín area contains a deeply incised valley of the Sázava River. The Sázava Valley in Soběšín is well preserved in terms of its landscape character. Forested areas and scattered groups of trees and green areas predominate there.
Historic Site on the Sázava
The Masaryk YMCA Camp on the Sázava near Soběšín was established in 1921. To this day, it retains the original arrangement of the tents and cabins.
Transport and Infrastructure
Soběšín railway station is located on railway line 212 between Čerčany and Světlá nad Sázavou. The Soběšín station building is not accessible.
Culture and Routes
The Hrádek rock formation – hradecká skála is listed as an immovable cultural monument in the municipality of Soběšín. Soběšín’s land-use plan takes into account the existing system of tourist-marked cycling routes and retains its current arrangement.
