Soutice: Hotels and Accommodation

Soutice is located at the confluence of the Želivka and Sázava rivers. The town combines this landscape feature with local history, museum exhibitions, and a restored trail.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint James the Greater in Soutice is first mentioned in 1363. The Soutice chateau complex is listed as a cultural monument. The Muzeum Soutice is housed in a reconstructed 18th-century granary, which has been protected as a cultural monument since July 29, 2020.

The Muzeum Soutice presents the town’s history through historical photographs, furnishings from the former post office, and the municipal chronicle. The exhibition about the Soutice chateau at the Muzeum Soutice covers the chateau’s owners and Ema Destinnová. A fired brick bearing the coat of arms of the Zahn family from the former Soutice brickworks is also on display there. The writer JUDr. Vojtěch Zamarovský is buried in the Soutice cemetery.

Water and Trails

The Umrlčí cesta trail, restored in 2017, has four rest areas with seating: Kukátko, Okno do duše a krajiny, Zvonička, and Svatá trojice. At the beginning of the Umrlčí cesta trail, near the access road to the D1 motorway, there are wooden furnishings and an information board; they are intended for resting and refreshment.

The traditional Silvestrovský pochod in Soutice leads to the confluence of the Želivka and Sázava rivers; this date is documented for December 31, 2025. The “Voda Želivka” exhibition at the Muzeum Soutice shows the journey of drinking water from a reservoir to Prague.
