Settlement traces from the Neolithic period have been found in the cadastral area of Svrkyně, including remains from the Linear Pottery culture and the Jordanów culture.
History
Settlement traces from the Únětice culture date back to the Early Bronze Age. In addition, the cadastral area of Svrkyně contains documented settlement traces from the Late and Final Bronze Age, as well as from the Hallstatt, La Tène, Knovíz and Bylany cultures. Historically, Svrkyně was owned by Břevnov Benedictine Monastery.
The Church of St. Michael is a Gothic church from the early 14th century. It was rebuilt in 1856, 1862 and 1897.
The Svrkyňský Tumulus consists of approximately twelve burial mounds arranged in a cross shape. It is located in the forest east of Libochovičky, next to the railway line south of the Kováry stop.
Landscape
The Zákolanský potok Site of Community Importance covers 10.1 hectares. A natural monument has been proposed for this site as a category of specially protected area.
The Turská plošina is situated predominantly on Upper Proterozoic rocks, generally just over 300 m above sea level, and is characterized by isolated rocky hills, including Horka and Pobíb. The relief of the Turská plošina slopes gently northeastward from approximately 300 m to 240–260 m above sea level.
The Hajnice hill [Velké Přílepy-Kamýk] is located in the nearby area.
Culture
The Stará kanalizační čistírna Praha-Bubeneč, a museum, is located in the surrounding area; Letohrádek královny Anny, a chateau, Galerie Rudolfinum, a museum, and The Golz-Kinsky Palace, a palace, are also located there.
Slovanský ostrov, an island, and Velké Benátky, an island, are also located in the surrounding area. Botanická zahrada Praha is a garden there.
