Třebusice: Culture, Sports and Community Life
A monument to Jan Hus was erected in the village square of Třebusice in 1920. The Roman cremation cemetery in Třebusice is the largest necropolis of the Elbe Germanic population (Suebi) discovered in the Czech Republic. Archaeological investigations of the Roman cremation cemetery uncovered 960 graves. Thus, within a compact thematic area, a 20th-century testimony stands alongside an archaeological site with a significantly older chronological horizon.
Culture
The Jan Hus Monument was ceremonially unveiled on 4 July 1920. It is decorated with a chalice and the inscription “NEZAHYNE NÁROD ČESKÝ POKUD ZÁŘIVÝM VZOREM MU BUDE VELKÝ MUČEDNÍK KOSTNICKÝ”. Thus, both the exact date of the unveiling and the visible design elements are recorded for on-site interpretation.
The graves of the Roman cremation cemetery in Třebusice form a unique, chronologically structured cross-section of the material culture of the Germanic population of Bohemia. It extends from the initial phase of settlement in the second half of the 1st century BC to the first half of the 3rd century AD. At the Na Čihadle sand pit, on the left side of the Brandýsek–Třebusice road, there is also a prehistoric and early medieval burial site representing several cultures.
The historic sites therefore differ in terms of their dating, connection to the location and type of evidence. Those exploring Třebusice thematically can consider the monument in the village square, the Roman cremation cemetery and the Na Čihadle burial site separately, rather than combining them into a single historic site.
Community Life
The multipurpose sports field in Třebusice offers opportunities for football, tennis, nohejbal, volleyball and, to a limited extent, basketball. On 8 August, a traditional summer gathering with an accordion was held at the sports grounds. In 2023, the municipality of Třebusice began operating the Obecní kino Třebusice community cinema.
Different focal points thus coexist in community life: several sports on a multipurpose field, a summer event with an accordion and a municipally operated cinema. In Třebusice, sports, the summer gathering and the community cinema can be considered different components of community life, without implying any ranking among them.
Transport
PID bus route 620 serves the Třebusice and Třebusice,křiž stops. The two stops mentioned and the sports and cultural information therefore belong to different areas of information: the bus route describes public transport, while the sports grounds, gathering and community cinema document local community life.
For a stay in Třebusice, hotels can be compared based on travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions. These accommodation features form a separate comparison area alongside the monument, cemeteries, sports grounds, bus route and community cinema, organizing stay planning without altering the local information.
