Halda is the spoil heap of the former Tuchlovice mine and is located directly next to the cycle path. It can be reached on foot or by bicycle. From the top of Halda, there is a sweeping view of the surrounding landscape; a table and benches are available there for relaxing or taking a short break.
Landscape and Cycle Path
The Cyklostezka Tuchlovice cycle path mostly follows the route of a former railway branch line that served the Tuchlovice mine. The paved Cyklostezka is also suitable for inline skating, is 6 kilometres long, and forms part of cycle route 8185, which runs from Lány to Kamenné Žehrovice railway station. It can be accessed or ridden on at several points.
Culture
The Chapel of St Florian was built in 1715 by the local landowner Jiří Náprstek. It is dedicated to Saint Florian because Tuchlovice was affected by a livestock epidemic in 1715. A pilgrimage tradition associated with the chapel has been documented since 1886.
The Church of St Havel is a single-nave, originally Gothic building dating from around 1330. Only the presbytery with its cross vault has survived from the medieval structure. During the Baroque-style remodelling carried out in 1840–1844, a 27-metre-high tower was built above the entrance portal. The church’s present appearance dates from the 1890 reconstruction, during which the sacristy was extended. Comprehensive renovation began in 2001; the church reopened in autumn 2002.
Water and Greenery
Rybník Salakvarda pond is located along a field path towards Lány and is fed by the Zámecký potok stream. It is used particularly by anglers and walkers, is owned by the municipality, and is freely accessible to everyone.
Tuchlovický Park is a large park in the centre of the village and offers a peaceful place to sit or take a walk. It was completely renovated in 2021.
History and Events
The former JAROSLAV / NOSEK / TUCHLOVICE hard-coal underground mining complex is located in the cadastral area of the municipality of Tuchlovice. The Pustinka ventilation shaft complex belonging to the former Tuchlovice mine, also known as Na pustince, is located in the cadastral area of the municipality of Lány, immediately adjacent to the Lánská obora game preserve. The main building of the Pustinka shaft, together with its headframe, is designated a technical monument.
Since 1962, Turyňský rybník has served as a base for Yacht Klub Kladno and the Kladno Water Sports Club, which brings together people interested in regatta and offshore sailing. Sailing boat races are regularly held on Turyňský rybník.
The Tuchlovická pouť takes place every May in Tuchlovice Square. The festival brings folk dancing, folk music, and theatre performances to Tuchlovice and is part of an annual folk programme.
