Landscape

The Střelečská hůra mountain is located in the vicinity of Veselice. The Přivýšina mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Veselice.

The Hladoměř hill [Dolní Bousov] and Mílová hora hill [Domousnice] are located in the immediate vicinity of Veselice. The Křižánky nature monument is a protected area and is one of the last sites of the marsh helleborine in the Jičín District.

Culture and History

A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in the fields south of Veselice. The Valdštejn Church is located in the wider regional surroundings.

The Jewish cemetery near Veselice was probably established around the middle of the 18th century. It preserves gravestones from the first half of the 19th century and belonged to the Jewish religious community in Domousnice.

Routes

A blue-marked hiking trail leads through Veselice and onwards to nearby Domousnice. The 18 km route “In the Footsteps of Ema Destinnová” leads from Dolní Bousov via Svobodín, Petkovy, Domousnice, Veselice and Vlčí Pole back to Dolní Bousov.

The described route between Domousnice and Veselice leads to Domousnice Chateau. Before the First World War, the chateau was associated with summer stays by opera singer Ema Destinnová; it is currently inaccessible.
