Culture and History

The Church of St. Lawrence, “kostel sv. Vavřince”, dates from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries and was remodelled in the Renaissance style in the 16th century. Its tower combines a wooden upper storey with a building otherwise constructed of stone. The parish house in Březina, now plastered, is a log building from the second half of the 18th century. Březina also contains examples of traditional log-house architecture.

Nature

The Žabakor Nature Reserve protects the Žabakor and Oběšenec ponds and the adjacent wetlands. It is an important botanical and zoological area, particularly for ornithology, and lies in the cadastral areas of Březina and Žďár u Mnichova Hradiště. The Příhrazské skály Nature Reserve protects a significant complex of rocks as well as natural and near-natural forest communities.
