Zbožíčko: Hotels and accommodations

History

Zbožíčko was first mentioned in written historical sources in 1410. From 1555, Zbožíčko belonged to the Benátky estate after Jindřich z Donína bought the villages of Zbožíčko and Straky from the Mitrovský of Nemyšl family.

Villagescape

Zbožíčko is home to a sandstone statue of Saint Florian from 2018, created by the sculptor Bartoloměj Štěrba. There is also a cross from 1877, a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary from 2005, and a war memorial from 2010. The village scene is complemented by two functioning sundials from 2012.

Water

The pond can be reached via a footpath that begins immediately after crossing the bridge over the Vlkava. At the southern edge of Zbožíčko lies the Zbožíčko weir, near a fishing hut and a children's playground. The metal bridge at the weir also serves as a footbridge over the watercourse and provides access to the opposite bank.

Surroundings

A large forest once stretched between Zbožíčko and Straky; remnants of it can now be found in the house gardens and around the village pond on the village square. A cycle route passes through the surroundings of Zbožíčko.
