Černilov: Hotels and Accommodation

Černilov is situated in a gently hilly, agriculturally shaped landscape and stretches for several kilometres along the Černilovský potok stream. In good visibility, the village offers views as far as the ridges of the Krkonoše Mountains and the Orlické Mountains.

In the vicinity of Černilov are Tranecký kopec hill [Černilov], Křivý kopec hill [Černilov] and Vidrholec hill. Dubový kopec hill [Divec] is also located nearby.

Churches and History

The Church of the Finding of Saint Stephen in Černilov was built according to plans by Donato Morazzi of Chrudim between 1752 and 1756. Its slender tower is just under 40 metres high and is visible from far across the surrounding area. Its furnishings include a sandstone baptismal font dating from 1895.

The Middle Evangelical Church of the Czech Brethren in Černilov was built in the pseudo-Romanesque style. It has a round apse to the east and a tower above the western façade bearing the inscription “POKOJ VÁM”. Inside there is a one-manual organ as well as wall inscriptions featuring quotations from the Gospel of Luke and the Psalms.

The former Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Černilov was completed in 1824. In 1969, it was taken over by the local National Committee and subsequently converted into a funeral hall.

Svatý Jiří, which is considered a church, is located in the wider regional area around Černilov.

Culture and Events

The cultural and community centre in Černilov serves as a leisure centre for the residents of Černilov and the surrounding area. It hosts courses, group activities, lectures, sports and exercise programmes, concerts, discussion events, as well as meetings of interest and support groups.

Traditional annual children's fishing competitions for young anglers and their families take place at Dolejšák.
