Hořiněves: Hotels and Accommodation
The Václav Hanka Memorial House in Hořiněves contains a permanent exhibition featuring photographs and documents about the life and work of Václav Hanka. At the same time, the house is a representative example of a wooden folk building dating from 1720. Guided tours with explanations must always be reserved in advance.
Culture and History
The present-day Church of Saint Procopius in Hořiněves is a Baroque church built in 1707 on the site of an earlier church. Cannonballs are set into its walls.
Hořiněves Château acquired its fully Baroque appearance during a renovation carried out from 1674 to 1676. Graves and monuments near the Church of Saint Procopius commemorate the fighting of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866.
Nature and Trails
The age of the protected Hořiněves memorial lime trees is estimated at more than 500 years. The memorial lime trees can be reached via a local dirt track: from the former water tower, turn left and then continue for approximately 200 metres.
The woodland section of the Hořiněvská Bažantnice nature trail is accessible on foot. Most of the trail’s interactive and information panels were damaged after a natural disaster in 2025 and removed from the forest.
