Převýšov: Hotels and Accommodation

Převýšov combines natural landscapes with a history of viticulture. The Víno Nature Monument lies on the western edge of Převýšov.

Nature

The Víno Nature Monument is an isolated forest complex consisting predominantly of oak-hornbeam stands. It is managed in a way that preserves the conditions required by the protected stag beetle.

The Kamenec, Hořánck and U Borku [Záhornice u Městce Králové] hills lie in the vicinity of Převýšov. The Víno hill [Lovčice u Nového Bydžova] is also located nearby.

Převýšov railway station lies on route 020 between Velký Osek and Hradec Králové. A public parking garage is located near Převýšov railway station.

Cycling

The cycle path from Převýšov to Chlumec nad Cidlinou runs from Převýšov towards the town and merges into an existing footpath at the edge of the forest.

History

The Převýšov fortress stood in a gentle valley between the 252-metre-high Vinice hill and the Víno forest, by a spring.

In the first half of the 16th century, Vojtěch z Pernštejna had vineyards planted on the southern marl slopes of Převýšov. The historic vineyards of Převýšov existed continuously for 120 years. Viticulture in Převýšov came to an end during the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648).

In the wider regional surroundings of Převýšov are Zámek Kačina Castle and the Church of Svatý Jiří.
