Boharyně and its district of Homyle lie on both banks of the Bystřice.

Culture and history

The Church of St. Bartholomew defines the appearance of Boharyně today. The Baroque church was built in 1650 and remodeled in 1783. It is a branch church and was previously a parish church. The Boharyně mill complex, which was declared a cultural monument on February 3, 2003, is also part of the village’s architectural and historical heritage.

Boharyně is also home to a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1808. The cemetery cross was restored in 1905 and consecrated on August 27 of the same year.

Nature and bodies of water

The Boharyně mill race runs along the eastern edge of the settlement and flows back into the Bystřice in the cadastral area of Roudnice. In the Boharyně area, the Bystřice Nature Monument runs along the bed of the Bystřice River. The section of the Bystřice originating from Boharyně is home to the rare river mussel Unio crassus.

Getting around

Bus route 102 (611102) connects Hradec Králové, Libčany, Boharyně, and Nový Bydžov; the timetable is valid from December 14, 2025, to December 12, 2026.

Boharyně is also included in the cycling network: the 15 km-long cycle route 4291 runs through Boharyně and leads from Praskačka via Libčany, Boharyně, and Trnava to Kratonohy. Cycle route 4291A leads from Boharyně to Zvíkov and is 2.5 km long.
