Třebechovice Pod Orebem: Hotels and Accommodation

The Třebechovice Probošt Nativity Scene is the only nativity scene in the Czech Republic to have been declared a national cultural monument, in 1999.

Culture

The Třebechovice Probošt Nativity Scene, including its mechanism, was made entirely of wood more than a century ago. More than 2,000 carved pieces are situated on an area measuring 6.9 × 1.9 × 2.2 metres.

The Třebechovice Museum of Nativity Scenes specializes in documenting static and mechanical nativity scenes. It is located at Masarykovo náměstí 1426, 503 46 Třebechovice pod Orebem. During an individual visit to the Třebechovice Museum of Nativity Scenes, visitors can see the Probošt mechanism of the nativity scene, including its unique wooden mechanism.

The Church of the Body of God on Oreb is listed as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The Protestant Church in Třebechovice was built between 1876 and 1880 in the Romanesque Revival style. St. Andrew’s Church in Třebechovice is a Baroque church built between 1767 and 1771.

Routes

The Naučná stezka Oreb educational trail begins at Masarykovo náměstí, leads to Oreb and returns to the square via Hajnišův mlýn. Its six stops provide information about the history of the buildings and monuments along the route.

The Třebechovická stopa is a short sightseeing circuit of approximately 3 kilometres. Cultural events organized by the local cultural centre at the Museum of Nativity Scenes in Třebechovice include the “Around Oreb” bike ride.

Nature

The artificial Alba watercourse, also locally known as Vantroka, was created as early as the first half of the 16th century to supply a system of ponds, mills and sawmills with water.

The Alba watercourse runs via Častolovice, Týniště nad Orlicí and the forests near Bědovice to the centre of Třebechovice pod Orebem, where it flows into the Dědina.
