Culture

The Church of St. Wenceslas in Stará Voda dates back to the 14th century, has stood for six centuries, and is one of the oldest churches in the Chlumecko region. It was built as a Gothic brick church in the second half of the 14th century and later remodeled in the Early Baroque style. Stará Voda also has a wooden bell tower from the 16th century, which houses a bell dedicated to St. Wenceslas. According to tradition, the name Stará Voda is derived from a spring that Prince Václav found after a long search.
