In Žíželeves stands the Church of St. Nicholas, a late Baroque building dating from 1769 to 1776. It was built under the patronage of Karel Špork by František Kermer and included in the list of central cultural monuments. The church is considered an urban-planning and landscape landmark of the municipality. A four-storey prismatic tower adjoins the northern side of its presbytery.
Culture and History
The archaeological site in the medieval and modern-era centre of Žíželeves encompasses the later Roman imperial period as well as the Middle Ages and the modern era.
The 2018 pilgrimage included the fourth edition of the competition for the best Žíželevský koláček. The 15th ceremonial pilgrimage was announced for Žíželeves; the programme of the pilgrimage in Žíželeves included a procession through the village in historical costumes, accompanied by music.
Landscape
In the immediate surroundings of Žíželeves are the hill (V Pustých) [Račice nad Trotinou] and the hill Nad Lysicí [Cerekvice nad Bystřicí]. The Velký Vřešťov hill, described as a former castle site, is also located nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of Žíželeves are Mount Maxinec (MLázovický chlum) and the Lázně church.
