Nature and Landscape

The Podtrosecká údolí nature reserve is home to 146 species of higher plants, including 18 specially protected species. Mount Střelečská hůra is located in the vicinity of Rytířova Lhota, as is Mount Přivýšina. The hill Na Vartě [Libošovice-Rytířova Lhota] is located nearby. Mount Tábor is situated in the wider regional area surrounding Rytířova Lhota. In 2021, a field path lined with an avenue of fruit trees was created between Libošovice and Rytířova Lhota.

Hiking

The Trosky–Kost route runs through Rytířova Lhota between Pleskotský mlýn and Podkost. It is a little over 16 kilometres long and is described as difficult. The Kost–Trosky hiking route leads from the Bílý rybník signpost in Prokopské údolí to Rytířova Lhota and then downhill to Pleskotský mlýn; it is a little over 14 kilometres long and moderately difficult.

History and Vernacular Architecture

The establishment of Rytířova Lhota is dated to the reign of the last Přemyslid king, Václav III. At the beginning of the Hussite unrest, Rytířova Lhota had eight house numbers. Following a clash with the Hussites, almost the entire settlement of Rytířova Lhota burned down, and Jindřich Hrzanovský was expelled. Rytířova Lhota is considered a typical locality of folk architecture in Český ráj. The Valdštejn Church is also located in the vicinity of Rytířova Lhota.
