History

The first written mention of Česká Čermná dates back to 1448. Until 1849, the history of Česká Čermná was closely linked to the history of the Náchod estate. The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas is the second chapel in Česká Čermná. Construction of the present Chapel of Saint Wenceslas in Česká Čermná began in 1938 and was completed in 1941. Surplus material from the discontinued construction of the Dobrošov military fortress was used to build the chapel.

Culture

The N-S 71 Sedlo infantry bunker is part of the Dobrošov Fortress System cultural monument. The N-S 71 Sedlo infantry bunker serves as a museum operated by the KAHAN III association.

Nature

Louky v České Čermné is a protected natural monument covering an area of 3.78 hectares.

Geographical Location

Česká Čermná lies on the border with Poland and has a border crossing for restricted cross-border traffic. Česká Čermná may be more difficult to reach in winter because of its elevation of over 500 metres.

Hiking

Hiking Trail 65 from Nový Hrádek to Dobrošov passes through Česká Čermná.
