Nahořany Nad Metují: Hotels and Accommodations

Nahořany borders the southeastern shore of the Rozkoš Reservoir directly with its cadastral area. The village lies in a mostly flat landscape that slopes gently toward the Metuje River, and on the district road from Nové Město nad Metují to Jaroměř.

Culture and History

Its sacred history includes the Church of the Holy Family in Nahořany, which is a filial church of the Roman Catholic parish of Nové Město nad Metují, and the Chapel of the Holy Family. During its reconstruction, the chapel was extended to the west in 1908 and fitted with a new brick tower; the foundation stone for its construction had already been laid on July 3, 1860.

Historical transport routes are also embedded in the village landscape: the Kłodzko–Poland road led through Nahořany onward toward Provodov and Náchod. The Nahořany road gate was entered in the state register of cultural monuments on March 6, 1964. The surviving road gate has a foundation dating from the 17th century. The building of the Nahořany fortress originally dates from the 16th century.

Cycling

Nahořany is one of the municipalities connected to the Rozkoš cycle path project. A newly built section of the Rozkoš cycle path leads from the Spyta district of Česká Skalice toward Nové Město nad Metují along road III/28517.
