Police nad Metují is home to several museums and historical sites. This is particularly tangible at the Museum of Paper Models, where almost 2,000 paper models are displayed across 300 m². The museum also offers a paper workshop.

Museums and Exhibitions

The Merkur Museum also focuses on hands-on experiences. Visitors can use a virtual-reality headset to try building with Merkur. At the same time, the museum displays the largest model built to date using the Merkur construction system.

Police nad Metují is also home to the exhibition “Geologický koutek: Polická křídová pánev”. It explores the geological structure of the Policko area and its surroundings.

The Police nad Metují Town Museum presents the history of the town of Police nad Metují and its surroundings in the historic rooms of a Benedictine monastery founded in the 13th century. A guided tour of the museum also includes Stará škola Dřevěnka. The monastery in Police nad Metují was founded in the 13th century by the Benedictines of Břevnov.

Construction of the large stone monastery church, Farní kostel, began after 1253.

Getting Around Police nad Metují
